Emma Blyth

acrylic on canvas 40 x 60cm

This painting is inspired by the old photos on display at the Fairbridge museum. During hay season the hay was raked with a horse drawn rake and by hand. Cultivating feed for all stock was a training activity and by 1925 seventy acres of crop were sown. The scene is set for an impressionist style painting and I used the blending of natural colours to create the tone of the day.
