Emma Blyth

Emma’s Brief for this years Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest poster was more fun and more vibrancy to reflect the growing popularity and excitement created by the Mandurah Crab Festival.

The festival continues to grow year by year, and certainly puts the spotlight on ‘our beautiful city’. As the Crab Fest grows, so does the popularity of local artist Emma Blyth, who creates the artwork used for the advertising of the festival.

‘My inspiration for this years artwork is the beautiful Mandjar Bay. Our City is a hive of activity around the Bay and I have tried to include all aspects of Mandurah into my painting in vibrant colour’.

‘I am very excited to have my artwork featured again for the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Festival. My work has become synonomous with the event since it’s inception in 1999 and I am very proud to be associated with the festival which is getting more and more popular each year. I am sure this will be the best one yet!’

The original artwork will be auctioned online and all the proceeds are donated to charity.

‘I have always tried to help people in need when I can and have gained great personal satisfaction in donating art pieces to a number charities. I feel so lucky to make a living from something I love it makes it easy to give some away for a good cause. Hopefully this year with the online auction of my original artwork we will raise a good amount for charity. The original oil on canvas is available to view at my gallery and will be at my art marquee on the weekend of the festival.’

Emma’s artwork can be found in collections throughout the world and it has recently been applied to Australian made souvenirs and gifts allowing people to purchase a sample of Emma’s art for just a few dollars!

‘My art gifts are proudly made here in WA, with bright stylized flora, fauna and landscapes. My work is fun, vibrant and full of life and portrays the Australian lifestyle and landscape. I want people to feel the same excitement and feelings that I have about our unique country and  I love painting Australian iconic images.’

Emma will have a full array of her artwork for sale at the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Festival. Be sure to call in and take a piece of Mandurah home with you!
