‘Fairbridge House’

Kingsley and Ruby Fairbridge’s home was to me one of the stand out dutch inspired houses of Fairbridge. Kingsley seemed like a driven man with a vision in seeing ‘the little children shedding the bondage of bitter circumstances and stretching their legs and minds amid the thousand interests of the farm’. This painting was inspired by photos of Kingsley and Ruby from the Fairbridge museum. The photos instilled a sense of admiration for Ruby. Following her man to an unknown country and undertaking such a huge task.
