‘Flight of the Carnabys’

Carnaby cockatoos would have been abundant on the banks of the South Dandalup river in the earlier years. Kangaroo paws add a splash of colour amongst the grass trees. I can imagine that the river was a favourite haunt for the Fairbridge kids. The river also provided irrigation for their massive vegetable garden, the dairy, laundry and water for the village.
